CRSP Market Indexes Notification – Index Name Change Notice

Morningstar Indexes is changing the names of the CRSP Market Indexes. These changes will align the individual index names with the standard Morningstar naming convention.

Morningstar will implement the name changes after the market close of Monday, July 27, 2026 effective before the open of Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The list of updated index names can be found here.

The “Index Name” column in the daily files will be updated to reflect the new names for files delivered from July 28, 2026 onwards.

A sample of the index levels file can be found here.

At this time there will be no changes to the index ticker, file format, file names, or delivery location.

Historical files with effective dates prior to July 28, 2026 will continue to reflect the legacy CRSP index names at this time.

Please notify all relevant technical departments of your organization as there may be an impact to existing systems or processes.
